Most Important, Destroying Medicare and Replacing It with Magic Ponies Is Bad Policy

Duncan Black says that, surprise, surprise, it is turning out to be bad politics as well:

Yet it doesn't occur to them that destroying Medicare (and, yes, getting rid of Medicare and replacing it with Magic Ponies called Medicare is destroying Medicare) would be, you know, unpopular.
