The promotional materials all say this is the last volume of the sequence, but it is not. That was a clerical error not caught in time. Two more volumes are in the pipeline: THE VINDICATION OF MAN, which is (as of this writing) sitting on the editor’s desk; and COUNT TO INFINITY...
I say: attention to craft!
I think: the wavelength of an FM radio station signal is about 10 feet--3 billion nanometers. To say that the sun is "an endless roar of radio white noise and high-energy particles" seems, to me at least, simply wrong:
The sun is a yellow light. The FM radio spectrum emissions of the sun are 600 million feet off to the right on the graph above.
I understand that world-building is hard. But when it is our world, the hard work has already been done for you, if you will just look around...
Perhaps I should stop there?
I remember the first thing of John C. Wright's I read was "The Guest Law", which I found amazing. It induced me to buy two of his books afterwards, neither of which I could get through. And now I see this...
