"Speculation" that voter-suppression legislation could depress the turnout of "groups that are likely to be predominately in the Democratic camp"? The purpose of the voter-suppression legislation is to suppress voting for Democrats. There is not "speculation". There is no "could". There is only the question of how effective the voter-suppression measures will be, for they also serve as a challenge to the suppressed groups and an organizing tool.
If Albert Hunt--now 74--cannot call a spade a spade even now, and has not figured out what it is to be a trustworthy information intermediary, he should go. In the words of Oliver Cromwell: "You have sat too long for any good you have been doing lately. Depart, I say; and let us have done":
