...Kleptocrats enrich themselves by expropriating plutocrats. Why folks like the Kochs and the Mercers imagine that a Putin-style strongman would permit them to keep their money continues to mystify me. But I suppose that Wilhelmine aristocrats imagined that Hitler would save them from the evils of Bolshevism, so perhaps illusory hope is what plutocracy is made of.
